My Little Sidekick

T still continues to be awesome about playing quietly and independently when I am working with M. Friday afternoon while M and I were working on geography I pulled out a set of Discovery tile games for him. As I was explaining how to use the game I wondered it he was old enough to understand and do it correctly. No need to worry. He took to it like a duck to water and had no problems at all. Even after I had finished with M and went upstairs to make lunches he stayed downstairs (very uncommon for him - he likes to be on the same level of the house I am) and played away.

Fun Fact: these tile games were mine when I was a little girl (about M's age). I have very fond memories of playing them on long car rides. It's been a treat for me seeing my little guy get such joy out of something that I also enjoyed so much as a child. Later that afternoon I told T that those games used to be mine and he said "Wow! So, it's like I'm touching your handprints!" Too sweet.

Field Trip: Rebounderz

Who says field trips have to happen during the day? Thursday night was homeschool night at Rebounderz and M/T had an absolute blast. Next time we go I am most certainly going to join them!

Videos!

I could not get blogger to upload this video (probably because of it's size, so I had to use photobucket -  hopefully it works okay). But you can get a good idea of what the jump arena looked like here. They had two of these arenas - so plenty of space for everyone!

Field Trip: Dinosaur Park & Creek

Thursday we had an outing with our homeschool group. We had so much fun last week at Dinosaur Park and visiting the fish in the creek, that we went back again this week. Sadly, all the big fish had moved on (we did spot a few tiny minnows though). Everyone still managed to have a ton of fun climbing on the rocks, digging up clam shells and just generally splashing around in the water.

T decided he wanted to cross the creek
even though I told him it was okay to put his feet in
he was determined to make it across dry-footed

halfway there

he quickly realized this wasn't the way to
accomplish his task
the last final steps
he was very proud of himself when he made it
across completely dry :)

Hump Day Lunch

The past two Wednesday's we have eaten lunch at Panera while finishing up school work. It's a nice way to break-up our week of indoors schoolwork and the kids love doing their school work at Panera. This week it was nice enough that we could sit outside to eat/work.

M/T ate their lunch while I read Charlotte's Web

Field Trip: Playdate @ Gaga's

We were once again blessed with an amazing weather week, and we took full advantage of it. Tuesday afternoon we headed over to Gaga's to play play play outside.

(they were really excited to go - I promise
they just happened to be starting directly into the
sun when this pic was taken :) )
